We’re celebrating Garden Day this month

Sunday October 20 is Garden Day in South Africa … a day when all gardeners and lovers of plants are encouraged to wear a flower crown, get outdoors and enjoy nature.

It makes no difference if you’re a beginner gardener, an indoor plant guru, a patio potterer or a wild weeder … it’s a day when you should hang up your gloves, set aside your shovel and appreciate your plants.

The day was created by Candide – a gardening app that connects gardeners with fellow plant lovers, public gardens and plant nurseries and features an extensive knowledge base of plants, news articles, plant identification, growing tips and virtual garden tours.

Honestly, if that’s not the BFF of choice for gardeners, we don’t know what is!

So on October 20, why not host a celebratory event … with tea and cake, a botanical G&T, a plant swap or lunch on the lawn … as long as you’re surrounded by greenery and toasting the goodness our gardens give us all year round.
