Seventy reasons to enjoy Roodeberg this festive season

Roodeberg, the legendary red blend that has been bringing friends together since 1949, celebrates its 70th anniversary this year.

A true South African original that’s stood the test of time, the wine was developed by a pioneer of the SA wine industry, Dr Charles Niehaus, and was one of our country’s biggest export wine brands.

It wasn’t until 2004 that it became readily available to us here at home … and for a long while, locals could only get their hands on a bottle through a wine-farming acquaintance with a KWV quota.

The stories go that bartering sought-after Test match tickets, biltong and the like in return for a bottle or two was a common occurrence.

For many, Roodeberg still conjures up fond memories of people, places and occasions, and of sharing special life-changing moments with family and friends, often with rare vintages
squirrelled away.

Catch all the action of Roodeberg’s 70th anniversary year by joining the Roodeberg community on Facebook or follow @Roodeberg_Wine on Instagram and Twitter.

Stand a chance to win

For one incredibly lucky reader, this party season is about to get a whole lot more festive.

To celebrate Roodeberg’s 70th birthday, we’re giving away 70 bottles (nope, that’s not a typo). One reader, 70 bottles. One amazingly happy festive season.

To stand a chance of winning, simply visit our Get It National Facebook page, follow us, and like the Roodeberg Spoil post.

We’ll be drawing the prize early … so get your entries in before November 15. Cheers!
