We admit, we love a traditional fruit cake. But not everyone does, so we always make sure we’ve got something special for our Christmas lunch … something guaranteed to please everyone.
This year we’re serving a lovely Vanilla torte, layered with Chantilly cream and topped with white chocolate shavings, from Chateau Gateaux. Add a few sprigs of appropriate greenery and some festive pomegranate seeds and … voila … Christmas on a plate.
Other cakes we’re stocking up on for the festive season are the Southern Red Velvet cake (looks Christmassy with no effort at all) and their lemon cheesecake (a heavenly combo of passion fruit and lemon on a golden gingerbread crumble base … perfect for when it’s too hot for anything heavy).
