A glamorous fund-raising dinner for The Rhino Orphanage held at Ferguson’s on 5th in Hyde Park did a whole lot more than delight guests’ taste buds … it secured a much-needed ventilator for the orphanage. Arrie van Deventer, the orphanage’s founder, pulled at guests’ heartstrings as he described the effect on a calf when its mother is poached, and shared how the non-profit organisation needed a ventilator. To his amazement, the marketing manager of BMW Sandton, Danica Groenewald, confirmed the company had bought it. Tears of joy and a whole lot cheers followed. What a great night!
