A song that can save a life


Lira, Mariechan and Gigi lamayne feature GoodLuck on a brand new song tagged My Body (Stand Up), to help support victims of Gender Based Violence.

The issue of gender-based violence is one that needs all our help to combat. Many times, we have heard of women who have faced abuse at the hands of men, in various situations. Fortunately, some people are standing up to help stop these issues and save the women.

Thanks to 1st For Women, since 2005, about R80m has been raised, and over 90 000 women have been saved from abuse. Now, they’re doing even more are Mzansi artists, Lira, Mariechan, Gigi Lamayne and GoodLuck have teamed up to deliver a song My Body (Stand Up) to the airwaves.

My Body can be streamed on all major music streaming sites. It was composed by Chris Snyman and Garth Barnes and produced by TigerFight on behalf of 1st for Women.

The song will also be used in 1st for Women’s school-based programme in Diepsloot targeting high school students. In the future, the 1st for Women Foundation hopes that the song will be included in school programmes across the country.

Profit from the song will be contributed to the 16 days of activism initiative and used to save women. And also used to fight women abuse. Why not stream it now to save a life!
