Poetry decolonisation and surviving America’s culture wars are the topics for the next Exclusive Books Cover to Cover online book show presented by Eusebius Mckaiser.

Eusebius interviews Dr Wamuwi Mbao, editor of Years of Fire and Ash which is a poetry anthology exploring decolonisation. Jacques Rousseau, an expert in critical thinking from UCT, then reviews Helen Zille’s latest book, #Stay Woke Go Broke.

Years of Fire and Ash: South African Poems of Decolonisation is a stunning collection of poetry with a deeply reflective introduction by the editor, Wamuwi Mbao. In this episode, we speak about why poetry also needs decolonisation and we give readers a taste of some of the poetry in this anthology,’ says Eusebius.

‘Poetry has always been a niche, but a vital section for Exclusive Books – appealing to audiences in a totally different way to traditional narratives. Poetry also allows the readers to dip in and out of a book and for reflecting powerful thoughts in bite-size chunks,’ added Batya Bricker, General Manager, Exclusive Books.

Tune in this evening, 6pm on the Exclusive Books YouTube channel.
