In the heart of Sandton, you’ll find the Bronzd Bar – a well of sunshine, good vibes and incredible Southern California style. The woman behind this biz is Bron Mulligan, who works her magic, making Joburgers look – and feel – glowing, glittery and oh-so golden.
Nestled in the back of the renowned Ginger hair salon, Bronzd Bar has become Bron’s haven – a space of self-expression, and this has always been her calling. ‘Life has brought me in and out of the industry. I have always had a love for everything beauty, fashion, skin and aesthetics. As a kid I would love flipping through the pages of Vogue,’ says Bron.
‘Fresh out of school, my first job was at the MAC Cosmetics counter. Later, I studied somatology, then ventured out to see the world and landed myself a position with Estee Lauder in California.’
Now, she stocks the skincare brand she loves, has a statement facial treatment and can help you get a perfect tan without stepping into the sun. Sometimes she invites a celeb plastic surgeon into her salon for a day of aesthetic beauty, pampering and so much more!
It was kismet that led Bron to Ginger hair salon. ‘This has been an exceptionally special place for me over the past five years. The owners, Jen and Kelly, and their extraordinarily talented team of hairstylists are the coolest, kindest people I have had the pleasure of meeting. I wouldn’t want my business located anywhere else!’
As for how her entrepreneurial journey started, we have lockdown to thank! ‘I was unhappy in my job and it was like Groundhog Day, waking up doing the same old thing… I had time to reflect and I needed to get back to what makes me happy. I’d always intended to start something on my own, and lockdown pushed me to take that leap.’

When she’s not in the salon, you’ll find her keeping busy – and social. ‘I run in the mornings and I do a bit of yoga too. I love people, so I enjoy getting together with the girls for lunch and a glass of wine, catching up and having a good laugh.
