{"id":18097,"date":"2023-12-23T10:00:14","date_gmt":"2023-12-23T08:00:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/getitmagazine.co.za\/joburg-north\/?p=18097"},"modified":"2024-05-28T16:08:47","modified_gmt":"2024-05-28T14:08:47","slug":"wishing-you-an-avo-green-christmas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/getitmagazine.co.za\/joburg-north\/blog\/2023\/12\/23\/wishing-you-an-avo-green-christmas\/","title":{"rendered":"Wishing you an (avo) green Christmas"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4><strong>If all you want for Christmas is to have a delicious meal and impress your guests and family, here\u2019s a recipe that\u2019s sure to wow.<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>For Christmas lunch, this avo wreath salad\u2019s a show stopper.\u00a0 It takes just 10 minutes to make, serves six to eight people, and looks as good as it tastes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Avocado Christmas wreath salad<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>You\u2019ll need:<\/strong> 4 \u2013 6 ripe avocados (depending on size); 1 small punnet strawberries or raspberries; half a red onion, finely sliced; 100 g baby spinach or rocket leaves; half a beetroot, scrubbed and grated; 1 wheel of feta; juice of 1 lemon; avocado oil or olive oil to drizzle; balsamic vinegar; sea salt and freshly ground black pepper; pomegranate rubies to garnish<\/p>\n<p><strong>To make:<\/strong> Peel and de-pip the avocados, slice and squeeze over lemon juice.<\/p>\n<p>Arrange the salad ingredients on a platter in a wreath shape on a flat plate.<\/p>\n<p>Garnish with pomegranate rubies, and drizzle with balsamic vinegar and oil.
