With their unique balance of tartness and sweetness, cherries are an inspired ingredient that brings irresistible flavour and colour to both sweet and savoury dishes. In fact, they are so versatile that you can enjoy cherry season from the moment you wake up!<\/p>\n<p>Cherries aren\u2019t just delicious \u2013 they may be small fruits, but they carry a significant nutritional value. They are naturally low in calories and fat, while being rich in essential nutrients such as vitamin C and potassium. Cherries are also a good source of fibre, which supports gut health. Their deep red colour is more than just attractive \u2013 it indicates that cherries contain antioxidants like anthocyanins, which have anti-inflammatory properties and support overall wellness. Arrange the cherries on the tray and roast for 20 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Combine the cherries, sugar, water and lemon juice in a small pot. Stir over a low heat to dissolve the sugar.<\/li>\n<li>Bring to the boil, then lower the heat and simmer gently for 15 minutes until the syrup has reduced by half.<\/li>\n<li>Stir regularly and mash the fruit as it simmers.<\/li>\n<li>Set aside to cool for 10 minutes, then strain into a small jug.<\/li>\n<li>To prepare the latte heat the milk to just below boiling point.<\/li>\n<li>Use a milk frother to froth for 30 seconds.<\/li>\n<li>Pour the milk into your glass or mug and top with a few spoonfuls of foam.<\/li>\n<li>Pour the espresso into the glass in a steady but gentle stream. Add a few teaspoons of cherry syrup to taste.
