The SPAR Women’s Challenge got off to a great start (see what we did there?) in 1992 as a active initiative to get women of all ages, shapes and fitness levels together to enjoy a safe run out in the sun.

Besides being fun and healthy, which in themselves are good reasons to run, there are also some really fab goodies up for grabs … think cash prizes for winners, T-shirts for the first 16000 pre-entries, and medals and goodie bags for the first 16000 runners to finish.

This really is a great day out for the whole family, with loads of entertainment and plenty of food stalls.

Okay … let’s get to the nitty-gritty details.

The race is at 8am on Sunday, October 6 (make a note in your diary right now) at Marks Park Sports Club in Emmarentia.

The entrance fee is R100 if you’re on the ball, or R110 for bookings on the day.

When you enter at one of the selected SUPERSPAR and sport stores (you’ll find the info on these online) you’ll receive your race number (with timing chip) and temporary licence number. If you’re entering online, you’ll have to collect these at Marks Park between 10am and 4pm on October 4 or 5, or between 6am and 7am on the day.
