Two well-known personalities will be showing their support for a good cause, this weekend, when they cook up a storm for Royal Baking Powder’s innovative “Royal Live Kitchen”, live on Instagram.

On Sunday, May 31, at 10am, celebrity chef Neill Anthony and radio personality Anele Mdoda will co-create delicious scones and buttermilk fried chicken (yum). Social media communities will then be challenged to repeat the baking and cooking at home.

Both celebrities have selected charities close to their hearts, to whom the proceeds – topped up by Royal Baking Powder – will be donated.

Neill Anthony’s charity of choice is Isabelo.

Started in 2009, in Franschhoek, Isabelo provides healthy, nutritious meals to underprivileged children so they don’t go to school on empty stomachs.

Anele Mdoda’s charity of choice is Baby Box.

Founded by Margot Janse in 2014, the Baby Box Project offers kindness and support to new moms in need by donating hampers of baby essentials.

Royal Baking Powder was founded in 1863 and has been tried and trusted by home bakers for over 150 years. Brand spokesperson, Marli van Zyl, says that while Royal Baking Powder is an ‘old hand’ in the kitchen, the brand is forging ahead in the New Age to show bakers that creating nostalgia in the kitchen is as valid today as 150 years ago.

Royal Baking Powder has selected Instagram as the platform of connection and the portal to drive community engagement.

“The Royal Live Kitchen will certainly be educational and entertaining, sprinkled with a bit of humour, and topped with a scrumptious recipe for people to enjoy at home. We are looking forward to the tangible difference this session will make to two special charities.”
