Travel: Whales, wine and wonderful music

A trio of treats at De Hoop this October

The Wine, Whales and Music affairs at De Hoop are always a treat, and the 2021 event is coming up, and really is a fantastic reason to head on down to the Cape.

A fabulous profusion of wine tastings, high tea, gourmet dinners and special performances by jazz duo Hanna and Bram, as well as a world class ensemble Whale Time Serenade with celebrated musicians Malané Hofmeyr-Burger, Peta-Ann Holdcroft, Irina Tsoniff and Ivo Ivanov and Vladimir Ivanov doing their marvellous thing on the flute, cello, violin and viola.

Guest speaker Prof Mike Bruton will be talking about Finding Old Fourlegs: The Remarkable Story of the Coelacanth and there’ll be chocolate-making and pizza-creating workshops , guided marine and bird walks and, of course, whale- watching … a highlight of any trip in the De Hoop Nature Reserve.
