One of the best solutions to hair loss, is hair transplants, however, outdated beliefs and fake news about this procedure might be stopping you from seeking a lasting solution. Let\u2019s get the facts straight about modern hair transplant methods by taking a good look at these five common myths:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Myth 1: I can wait until I\u2019m bald for a hair transplant.<\/b>While many people ignore the early signs of hair loss, mistakenly believing it\u2019s better to bald extensively before getting a procedure done, it is in fact often best to seek professional advice as soon as you start noticing it. The more hair you have left and the smaller the balding area, that more effective the hair restoration procedure will be.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Myth 2: The process is painful, looks unnatural, and leaves a scar. <\/b>Yes, hair transplantation procedures involve extracting hair from one part of the scalp to implant into the affected or balding area. Having said that, thanks to modern methods, such as the Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE), hair restoration procedures are now minimally invasive and largely painless. Furthermore, this method involves removing individual hair follicles with precision equipment, and is essentially a scarless procedure that avoids cutting the scalp open. Some patients may notice tiny hyperpigmentation spots, which are only visible when the head is shaved \u2013 but even this is rare.<\/span><\/p>\n

Myth 3: The procedure is unaffordable. <\/b>You might be surprised to hear that a hair restoration operation – and even a cutting-edge FUE procedure from a professional clinic – is often more affordable than people think. Selecting a doctor and clinic with years of experience and expertise, and access to high-end equipment really does make a difference. Beware of \u201cBlack Friday specials\u201d and fly-by-night operations, as the results will not be what one expects.<\/span><\/p>\n

Myth 4: I don\u2019t need to visit a clinic\u2026off-the-shelf medication works just as well. <\/b>Generic products and over-the-counter medicines are often very costly and typically do not address hair loss issues in any meaningful way, and may even make the situation worse by delaying people from seeking expert medical help.<\/span><\/p>\n

Myth 5: I\u2019ll have to shave my entire head for the procedure. <\/b>A common fear deterring people from seeking a hair transplant is the perception that they must shave their entire scalp first \u2013 often a particularly frightening prospect for women.
