Warm the milk. Mix with yeast and sugar. Let it sit for 10 minutes until frothy.<\/p>\n<p>Combine flour and salt. Add yeast mixture, water, 2 tablespoons olive oil, and egg. Knead until smooth and elastic. Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise 1 to 2 hours until doubled in size.<\/p>\n<p>Mix za\u2019atar with 5 tablespoons of olive oil. Punch down dough, divide, and flatten. Spread za\u2019atar mixture on each piece. Fold or leave open with za\u2019atar on top.<\/p>\n<p>Place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Chef\u2019s note: You can serve manakish as part of a healthy breakfast spread alongside homemade labneh and fresh vegetables like tomatoes, olives, cucumber and mint. In a large ovenproof skillet over medium-high, heat<\/p>\n<p>1 tablespoon oil. Generously season chicken with salt and black pepper and cook, turning halfway through, until golden brown, about 5 minutes per side. Transfer chicken to a plate.<\/p>\n<p>In the same skillet over medium heat, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of oil.<\/p>\n<p>Stir in garlic, thyme, and red pepper flakes. Cook, stirring, until fragrant, about 1 minute.<\/p>\n<p>Stir in broth, tomatoes, cream, and Parmesan; season with salt. Bring to a simmer, then return the chicken and any accumulated juices to the pan.<\/p>\n<p>Transfer skillet to the oven and bake chicken until cooked through and juices run clear when chicken is pierced with a knife, 10 to 12 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Arrange chicken on a platter.
