{"id":3638,"date":"2020-03-13T09:03:16","date_gmt":"2020-03-13T07:03:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/getitmagazine.co.za\/joburg-south\/?p=3638"},"modified":"2024-05-28T15:59:44","modified_gmt":"2024-05-28T13:59:44","slug":"beef-and-broccoli-bake-every-member-of-the-family-will-love","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/getitmagazine.co.za\/joburg-south\/blog\/2020\/03\/13\/beef-and-broccoli-bake-every-member-of-the-family-will-love\/","title":{"rendered":"Beef and broccoli bake every member of the family will love"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Serves: 4-6<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>40 g salted butter<br \/>\n80 g McCain Diced Onion<br \/>\n2 garlic cloves, finely chopped<br \/>\n400 g beef strips<br \/>\n2 ml paprika<br \/>\n15 ml lemon juice<br \/>\n350 g McCain Broccoli, defrosted<br \/>\n300 ml (250 g) McCain Mixed Vegetables, defrosted<br \/>\n500 ml Napolitana sauce (shop bought)<br \/>\nSalt and freshly ground black pepper, to season<br \/>\n250 ml (110 g) Mozzarella cheese, grated<\/p>\n<p><em>To serve:<\/em><\/p>\n<p>McCain Savoury Rice or Couscous<\/p>\n<p><strong>Method<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Preheat oven to 190 \u00b0C; In a large saucepan, heat half of the butter and saut\u00e9 McCain Diced Onion and garlic. Remove onions and fry the beef strips in batches until golden, using remaining butter. Season and add paprika.<br \/>\nAdd in the lemon juice and toss through. Remove from heat, add directly into a 30cmx5cm casserole dish.<br \/>\nIn the same saucepan, toss the McCain Broccoli and Mixed Vegetables to colour slightly before adding to the casserole dish.<br \/>\nStir through the Napolitana sauce, season with salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste.<br \/>\nTop with Mozzarella cheese and bake for 25-30 minutes, until the cheese is golden, and the casserole has heated through.<br \/>\nServe immediately with a side serving of McCain Savoury Rice or fluffy couscous.<br \/>\nVariations, hints and tips<br \/>\nReplace the beef strips with chicken fillet strips for a lighter alternative; and replace the tomato Napolitana sauce with a spicy Arrabiata Sauce.<br \/>\nMake and freeze this meal without baking it.
