{"id":4321,"date":"2020-06-02T09:32:02","date_gmt":"2020-06-02T07:32:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/getitmagazine.co.za\/joburg-south\/?p=4321"},"modified":"2024-05-28T15:59:29","modified_gmt":"2024-05-28T13:59:29","slug":"stay-warm-with-this-delicious-soup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/getitmagazine.co.za\/joburg-south\/blog\/2020\/06\/02\/stay-warm-with-this-delicious-soup\/","title":{"rendered":"Stay warm with this delicious soup"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4><strong>Wish on Florida\u2019s Thyme roasted sweet potato and butternut soup<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>With the cold weather around the corner, Wish on Florida has the perfect vegetarian soup dish recipe for you to enjoy at home.<\/p>\n<p>This cosy soup dish has hints of smouldering subtle heat (chillies) and sweet notes of sweet potatoes and a must-have for the cold winter nights<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 1 butternut<br \/>\n\u2022 3 sweet potatoes<br \/>\n\u2022 2 garlic cloves<br \/>\n\u2022 1 onion<br \/>\n\u2022 Celery<br \/>\n\u2022 4 carrots<br \/>\n\u2022 75g Thyme<br \/>\n\u2022 25g Rosemary<br \/>\n\u2022 1 tablespoon pepper<br \/>\n\u2022 1 tablespoon salt<br \/>\n\u2022 1 teaspoon paprika<br \/>\n\u2022 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper<br \/>\n\u2022 500ml chicken \/veg stock<br \/>\n\u2022 2 chillies \/ more depending on your preferences of heat<br \/>\n\u2022 250ml full cream<\/p>\n<p><strong>Method:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. Peel and cube the sweet potato and butternut.<br \/>\nPeel the 2 carrots roughly chop<br \/>\nRoughly chop half the onion and celery<\/p>\n<p>2. In a roasting pan add your vegetables and half the thyme. Make sure it\u2019s well covered with oil. Then add the spices, salt and pepper to taste. Roast till soft.<\/p>\n<p>3. Finely chop the rest of the onion, garlic, fresh herbs and chillies<\/p>\n<p>4. Roughly chop the rest of the Celery and carrots<\/p>\n<p>5. Heat you pan on high, add your mixture of veg and herbs.<br \/>\nAllow the veg to brown but do not burn!<\/p>\n<p>6. Add the stock of your choice allow to simmer for about 3mins. Now add your roasted vegetables<\/p>\n<p>7. Blend the mixture adjust seasoning with salt and pepper you can add a touch of sugar as well.
