<\/p>\nCapsicum Culinary Studio has tasked its chef lecturers to come up with some delicious dishes, perfect for the whole family to enjoy during the current lockdown.<\/p>\n
Chef Charne Wylie from the school’s Pretoria campus shares her recipe for her delicious and easy-to-make Malva pudding \u2013 perfect for the winter weather we are currently experiencing – and best served with lashings of cream or custard (or both for the very greedy!)<\/p>\n

Chef Charne Wylie<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n (makes 8 portions)<\/em><\/p>\n For the Pudding<\/strong><\/p>\n Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 2 cups sugar Method<\/strong><\/p>\n Beat the eggs and sugar well until they are light and fluffy. \n\u2022 4 eggs
\n\u2022 2 tblsp apricot jam
\n\u2022 2\u00bd cups flour
\n\u2022 2 tsp bicarb
\n\u2022 Pinch salt
\n\u2022 4 tblsp melted butter
\n\u2022 2 tblsp vinegar
\n\u2022 250ml milk<\/p>\n
\nAdd the apricot jam to the egg and sugar mixture.
\nSift together the flour, bicarb and salt in a separate bowl.
\nMix together the butter, vinegar and milk and add to the flour mixture. Combine this with the egg and sugar.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 250ml butter
\n\u2022 250ml sugar
\n\u2022 250ml water and orange juice with a tot or two (to taste) of sherry or brandy. Leave the alcohol out if you don\u2019t drink.<\/p>\n
