Race time!

As usual, the annual SPAR Women’s Challenge was a booming event not easy to forget! A sea of grey T-shirts covered the grounds of the Marks Park Sports Club as thousands of amped women (and men!) came to the race for whichever they see fit – some come for fun, some come to compete and some come to raise awareness. The gorgeous Face of the Race winner along with her runner-ups also competed on the day and did their part in collecting and donating running shoes for the less fortunate.

Helalia Johannes clinched the win for the 10km race. This seals her winning streak as she has won all six of the races in the SPAR Women’s Challenge Series.

Crossing the finish line in second place is the 2019 Comrades Marathon Champion Gerda Steyn who placed second and former Joburg champion Irvette van Zyl placed third.
