Low alcohol. Low calories. Great taste. What’s not to love?

This summer we’re being sensible. We’re still celebrating everything summer has to offer with lovely wines, but we’re choosing those with lighter alcohol levels and fewer calories. Without, obviously, sacrificing quality or taste. First on our list to try is the Robertson Winery Light Cultivar range, which is showing off great new design, too. With about 9 per cent alcohol instead of the average 12 or 13 per cent, there’s a Sauvignon Blanc 2019 (refreshing, dry, zesty, about R55), a Chenin Blanc 2019 (off-dry, all yellow apple, pear and floral notes, about R55); a Pinotage Rosé (a beautiful pale coral off-dry rosé), and a Merlot (think ripe plum and sweet black cherry flavours). All between R50 and R55. Details: robertsonwinery.co.za or join the Robertson community on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter @RobertsonWinery.
