Morgan-Lee Bam is already turning heads \u2013 not only for what she\u2019s wearing, but for what she\u2019s making happen behind the seams. With an eye for style, a love of statement silhouettes, and a hands-on approach to everything from fabric picks to photoshoots, this rising trendsetter is carving out her space in the fashion world \u2026 one chic outfit at a time.<\/p>\n

While most teens are stressing about TikTok trends and trig tests, 17-year-old Morgan-Lee Bam is busy building a fashion empire from her lounge. One minute she\u2019s approving fabric swatches with her mom, the next she\u2019s juggling online orders. Oh. And she\u2019s also in matric.<\/p>\n

From matric learner to haute couture<\/strong>
\nIt all started three years ago, when Morgan-Lee was still walking the corridors of high school, daydreaming not about parties, but about puff sleeves and power suits. The spark? Watching her mom, Maritza Bam, run her own clothing brand.
\n\u201cThat\u2019s really where the love for fashion developed. I didn\u2019t exactly plan to start a brand at that age, but once I started playing around with designs and fabrics, it just clicked. Fashion felt like home.
\n\u201dHer very first online launch included just 10 garments \u2013 and though small, it was mighty. That collection marked the start of something beautiful.
\nAnd then there\u2019s the name \u2013 Boslief. It\u2019s playful. It\u2019s proudly South African. And it\u2019s full of heart.
\n\u201cIn Afrikaans, boslief means sweetheart or darling. It felt like something our customers could connect with, familiar, local, and warm.\u201d
\nIt\u2019s also a subtle nod to her love of the bushveld, where nature, simplicity, and quiet beauty reflect the essence she hopes to bring to each design.<\/p>\n

One girl boss, one glam mom<\/strong>
\nMorgan-Lee may run the show, but she\u2019s got her mom right by her side – her biggest supporter, go-to sounding board, and all-around wingwoman.
\n\u201cWorking with my mom is amazing. We\u2019re so similar but also totally different \u2026 which weirdly works. You learn a lot about someone when you\u2019re building a brand together!\u201d
\nIt\u2019s a partnership built on trust, late-night chats, lots of coffee and a shared love for creating something meaningful. And it gets even better. Her mom also models the Boslief pieces.
\n\u201cIt\u2019s so special seeing my mom wear the pieces we\u2019ve worked so hard on. She\u2019s beautiful, and she just gets the brand. Plus, it shows that Boslief is truly for women of all ages.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fashion with a purpose<\/strong>
\nIn a world bursting with fast fashion and fleeting trends, Boslief is something refreshingly different.
\n\u201cWe design for women who want to feel confident, comfortable, and classy. Our style is all about statement and timelessness. We don\u2019t follow trends. We want to create pieces that stay beautiful and relevant. Today, next year, and beyond.
\nThink classic silhouettes, quality fabrics, and effortless flair. Whether you\u2019re on safari, running errands, or heading to a glam event, a Boslief piece should make you feel like you \u2026 just a little bit elevated.\u201d
\nHer fave part of the process? The creative bits, of course.
\n\u201cI love curating the designs and figuring out which fabrics will bring them to life. We go for quality over quantity. Always.\u201d<\/p>\n

Creative director. Stylist. Slay queen.<\/strong>
\nBut fashion design is only half of what she does. Morgan-Lee also wears the hats of creative director, stylist, shoot producer, and content curator. Sometimes all in the same day.
\nShe plans and styles Boslief\u2019s photoshoots, books photographers, scouts venues, coordinates hair and makeup, and directs the entire aesthetic.
\n\u201cI love the creative chaos of shoot days,\u201d she says, clearly in her element. \u201cIt\u2019s a
\nlot of planning, but seeing it all come together is the best feeling.\u201d
\nHer hands-on approach ensures Boslief\u2019s look and feel are consistent, considered, and completely true to the brand\u2019s ethos.<\/p>\n

Business plans & school notes<\/strong>
\nLet\u2019s not forget, Morgan-Lee is still in high school. While her classmates stress about finals, she\u2019s managing orders, planning shoots, and answering customer queries.
\n\u201cIt\u2019s a balancing act, for sure,\u201d she laughs. \u201cBut homeschooling definitely helps me juggle everything better. I get to plan my days around both Boslief and my studies.\u201d
\nAnd she\u2019s not slowing down anytime soon. Her future plans include studying child law, psychology, or business law. Fields that connect with both her interest in people and her entrepreneurial spirit. \u201cWhatever I choose, I\u2019ll keep growing Boslief alongside it.\u201d<\/p>\n

The grit behind the glam<\/strong>
\nBehind the dreamy photos and polished pieces, there\u2019s a real challenge. Being taken seriously.
\n\u201cPeople sometimes assume that because I\u2019m young, I can\u2019t possibly know what I\u2019m doing. But I\u2019ve learnt to use that doubt as motivation. I\u2019m not here to prove anything. I\u2019m here to build something.\u201d
\nOne of her biggest mindset shifts came from reading High Performance by Jake Humphrey and Prof Damian Hughes.
\n\u201cIt really changed how I think. It helped me realise that I can conquer anything \u2013 if I put in the work and believe in myself.\u201d<\/p>\n

Quiet strength, big vision<\/strong>
\nDespite her confident presence as an up-and-coming businesswoman, Morgan-Lee describes herself as \u201cquiet and reserved \u2026 but with a sharp sense of humour.\u201d And if you know her, you\u2019ll know that\u2019s spot on.
\nHer personal style? \u201cComfortable, but still classy. Off-the-shoulder knitwear is a staple. And I\u2019m hoping low-rise jeans never make a comeback. (Same, girl. Same.)
\nShe\u2019s inspired by brands like Ukraine\u2019s Miss Diamond, known for their strong, feminine designs and attention to detail. But her ultimate goal?
\n\u201cTo help women of all ages feel amazing in what they wear. Clothing isn\u2019t just something we throw on. It\u2019s a form of self-expression. It should mean something. It should make you feel powerful.\u201d<\/p>\n

Advice from a young trailblazer<\/strong>
\nFor other young dreamers out there, Morgan-Lee keeps it real. \u201cGo all in! Chase those dreams and work hard for them. Just know, not everyone will cheer you on. And that\u2019s okay. You\u2019re not here to please everyone. Stay true to why you started.\u201d
\nHer go-to mantra? \u201cAll waves eventually pass. Every challenge, no matter how tough, is temporary.\u201d
\nAs Morgan-Lee balances textbooks with textiles, one thing\u2019s clear. She\u2019s not just stitching together a brand \u2013 she\u2019s tailoring a legacy. With quiet confidence, fearless ambition, and a wardrobe full of bold moves, she\u2019s turning the fashion world into her own personal runway.
