Celebrate #braaiday on the 24th of September with this juicy\u00a0<strong>Lamb &amp; Apricot Sosaties <\/strong>recipe by My Kitchen.<\/p>\n<p><em>Makes 12<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Cooking time: 30 mins, plus two to three days marinating time<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<br \/>\n<\/strong>2 tbsp olive oil<br \/>\n2 onions, peeled and sliced<br \/>\n2\u20133 tbsp curry powder<br \/>\n2 tbsp coriander seeds<br \/>\n1 tsp turmeric<br \/>\n1 cinnamon stick<br \/>\n\u00bd cup white wine vinegar<br \/>\n\u00bd cup apricot juice or water<br \/>\n3 tbsp brown sugar<br \/>\nJuice and zest of 2 lemons<br \/>\nSalt and pepper<br \/>\n1\u00bd\u20132 kg leg of lamb, deboned, cut into bite-sized pieces<br \/>\n24 Turkish dried apricots<br \/>\n24 fresh lemon or bay leaves<\/p>\n<p><strong>Method:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Heat oil in a pot over medium-low heat. Add onions and fry until soft (try not to let them brown).<\/li>\n<li>Add the curry powder, coriander seeds, turmeric and cinnamon stick. Fry for 2\u20133 minutes, until fragrant.<\/li>\n<li>Add vinegar, apricot juice or water, sugar, and lemon zest and juice. Season. Bring to the boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes. Leave to cool.<\/li>\n<li>Meanwhile, divide the lamb between 12 skewers, alternately adding dried apricots and leaves. Place in a glass dish and pour the sauce over.
