More than just a race, the SPAR Women\u2019s Challenge has evolved into a national movement, and this year\u2019s Mbombela edition carried deep social relevance. With a theme centred on stopping gender-based violence (GBV) and addressing period poverty, the event served as a powerful call to action – one that resonated strongly with TRAC and its people.<\/p>\n

TRAC\u2019s involvement went far beyond race-day participation. In the build-up to the challenge, employees rallied together to support GRIP (Greater Rape Intervention Programme), the official beneficiary of the event and a key organisation in the fight against GBV in the Ehlanzeni region. Staff collected and donated hundreds of essential items – from sanitary pads and toiletries to hygiene products – for the residents of GRIP\u2019s safe houses and the many survivors they assist.<\/p>\n

This initiative also marked one of TRAC\u2019s early celebrations of Women\u2019s Month, observed nationally on August 9. With this year\u2019s race falling just weeks ahead of this important day, the event offered a meaningful opportunity for the company to honour the strength and struggles of South African women – and to reaffirm its ongoing commitment to their upliftment and protection.<\/p>\n

On race day, the TRAC team joined hundreds of participants at the Lowveld National Botanical Gardens. It was a day filled with energy, emotion and solidarity – every step taken a symbol of resistance against injustice, and every participant a beacon of hope.<\/p>\n
