It is that time of the year again where the teddies are dressing up for the annual Teddy Bear Tea Party, the biggest and the most popular tea party in Mpumalanga.

“It is a highlight on the social calendar year after year and this year it is going to be bigger and better as previous years,” said Andries du Preez, the founder, and organizer of the famous Teddy Bear Tea Party.

Andries started this initiative more than 10 years ago where any old or new teddies are collected during the event and then it gets donated towards abused or terminally ill children.

“This event is so popular that more charities were identified and will benefit from this year’s event namely the Teddy Bear Clinic (for abused children and women) together with the Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa) Highveld and Solidariteit Helpende Hand. We encourage the public to not only donate a soft toy but non-perishable food items, blankets and clothing.”

This year’s overhead theme is circus and the public can expect “The Big Top” coming to town with popcorn, candyfloss, loads of treats and over the top tables all rolling out for the Teddy Tea.

“We are very proud to introduce Demi Lee Moore as our guest artist. Demi is a South African recording artist and recently won “Die Kontrak” on Kyknet and topping the South African playlists with her single “Mis, Eet, Slaap, Herhaal”. The event will be filled with much excitement and the very popular Teddy Bear Auction will be taking place.”

Even more excitement as the limited edition “Andries Du Preez teddy bear” with its own uniquely designed brooch will be launched and introduced during the event.

The Teddy Bear Tea Party will be taking place on Saturday, August 31 at 10:00 for 10:30 at Pienaar Dam Hartland Saal. Tickets are R125 per person or R1 250 per table. For tickets or table bookings, contact Andries on 072 248 9424 or Sherall du Preez 072 677 5733.
