Too much screen time can lead to sore and watery eyes. Here’s how to prevent eye strain

With the lockdown having most of us working from home, your eyes might be taking more strain than usual.

Whether you are working on your laptop or constantly checking your phone for news updates or messages from friends and family, all that screen time isn’t good for your eyes. You might even be seeing double come night time, or struggle with sore or watery eyes; even a slight headache.

Here are a few tips, from Execuspecs, to prevent eye strain during the lockdown period:

  • Blink more, we tend to blink less when working at our computers
  • Check your screen angle, incorrect angles can also cause neck and back strain – you should be looking slightly downwards at your screen, not up or straight ahead
  • Check the distance of your screen to your eyes – you should not be closer than arms -length
  • Check your brightness settings as well as your contrast settings, your screen should not be brighter than your surroundings
  • Make sure that you move away from your screen from time to time to give your eyes a break
  • Drink enough water, if you are hydrated then your eyes are hydrated

Although Execuspecs stores are not open during lockdown they still offer their home-try-on service which allows you to try on up to four frames at home. Head on over to their website, choose your favourites – which will be delivered to your door for free – keep them for seven days with no obligation to purchase and after seven days you simply return them in the courier sleeve.

Do remember to share your frames selection with your friends in your Instagram stories and let them help you choose #execuspecshometryon. It’s never been easier to shop for the perfect pair of glasses!
