Liewe Heksie en die Rolskaatse – a theatre production for the whole family

Liewe Heksie has decided it’s time to head her broom north and visit the Atterbury Theatre in Pretoria with the production Liewe Heksie en die Rolskaatse.

Come join in the celebration of her “first” birthday. As we all know Liewe Heksie is not known for her good memory … seeing that she can’t remember the exact date, she decided it is Saturday, May 28. But the nasty Geelheks is always on the lurk and waiting for an opportunity to steal Heksie’s presents. Liewe Heksie needs all the help she can get.

Verna Vels’s stories have been popular for more than 50 years and brought to life on stage with loads of audience participation, children of all ages are in for a treat. Margit Meyer-Rödenbeck plays the part of Heksie and the talented Deon van Zyl has his hands full, portraying Karel Kat, Geelheks and Koning Rosekrans.

Liewe Heksie en die Rolskaatse received the Kanna award at this year’s KKNK for best children theatre production.

“Nerves and laughter: Impromptu theatre at its best. Children’s theatre has a dedicated aim, not just to entertain the little one, but remind the ‘grumpy’ grown-ups play-play of the magic of fairy tales” Marianna Malan- Die Burger)

Pencil May 28 in your diary. There’s three shows – 10am, 12 noon and 2pm at the Atterbury Theatre, Pretoria.
