In our country, we generally make them like the French, and heap them with cinnamon sugar and lemon juice, or syrup.<\/p>\n<p>So to celebrate Pancake Day, dynamic twin chefs, foodies and Laager Rooibos ambassadors, Lebo and Tebo Ndala from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/withlovefromthetwins\">@withlovefromthetwins<\/a>, share three of their pancake recipes with a twist.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11839\" src=\"https:\/\/getitmagazine.co.za\/pretoria\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/26\/2022\/03\/VISUAL-1-scaled.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1920\" height=\"2560\" srcset=\"https:\/\/getitmagazine.co.za\/pretoria\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/26\/2022\/03\/VISUAL-1-scaled.jpeg 1920w, https:\/\/getitmagazine.co.za\/pretoria\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/26\/2022\/03\/VISUAL-1-scaled-300x400.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/getitmagazine.co.za\/pretoria\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/26\/2022\/03\/VISUAL-1-scaled-768x1024.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/getitmagazine.co.za\/pretoria\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/26\/2022\/03\/VISUAL-1-scaled-1152x1536.jpeg 1152w, https:\/\/getitmagazine.co.za\/pretoria\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/26\/2022\/03\/VISUAL-1-scaled-1536x2048.jpeg 1536w, https:\/\/getitmagazine.co.za\/pretoria\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/26\/2022\/03\/VISUAL-1-scaled-696x928.jpeg 696w, https:\/\/getitmagazine.co.za\/pretoria\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/26\/2022\/03\/VISUAL-1-scaled-1068x1424.jpeg 1068w, https:\/\/getitmagazine.co.za\/pretoria\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/26\/2022\/03\/VISUAL-1-scaled-315x420.jpeg 315w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>SAVOURY CR\u00caPES WITH A ROOIBOS BOBOTIE FILLING<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>You\u2019ll need: <\/strong>For the pancake batter &#8211;<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>2 eggs; 1 \u00bd cups of milk; 1 cup all-purpose flour; 1 Tbsp sugar; 1 Tbsp vegetable oil<\/p>\n<p>For the Bobotie &#8211; 1 onion, finely chopped; 15ml curry powder; 2ml cumin; 3ml turmeric; 500g beef mince; 40ml chutney; 40ml raisins; 250ml strongly brewed Laager Rooibos tea<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Pancake batter:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl until batter is thin and smooth.<\/li>\n<li>Pour \u00bc cup of batter into a buttered pan and swirl around until cr\u00eape is thin.<\/li>\n<li>Cook for 1-2 minutes per side. Repeat until the mixture is finished.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Bobotie filling:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Heat oil in a saucepan. Saut\u00e9 onions until translucent.<\/li>\n<li>Add curry powder, cumin and turmeric. Fry for 1 minute. Add the mince and cook until browned.<\/li>\n<li>Add the chutney, raisins and tea. Cook for around 10-15 minutes until the sauce thickens.<\/li>\n<li>Adjust seasoning. Cool slightly, and fill the cr\u00eapes with Bobotie mixture.<\/li>\n<li>Serve with extra chutney if desired.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11841\" src=\"https:\/\/getitmagazine.co.za\/pretoria\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/26\/2022\/03\/VISUAL-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1333\" height=\"2000\" srcset=\"https:\/\/getitmagazine.co.za\/pretoria\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/26\/2022\/03\/VISUAL-2.jpg 1333w, https:\/\/getitmagazine.co.za\/pretoria\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/26\/2022\/03\/VISUAL-2-267x400.jpg 267w, https:\/\/getitmagazine.co.za\/pretoria\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/26\/2022\/03\/VISUAL-2-682x1024.jpg 682w, https:\/\/getitmagazine.co.za\/pretoria\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/26\/2022\/03\/VISUAL-2-768x1152.jpg 768w, https:\/\/getitmagazine.co.za\/pretoria\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/26\/2022\/03\/VISUAL-2-1024x1536.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/getitmagazine.co.za\/pretoria\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/26\/2022\/03\/VISUAL-2-696x1044.jpg 696w, https:\/\/getitmagazine.co.za\/pretoria\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/26\/2022\/03\/VISUAL-2-1068x1602.jpg 1068w, https:\/\/getitmagazine.co.za\/pretoria\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/26\/2022\/03\/VISUAL-2-280x420.jpg 280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1333px) 100vw, 1333px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>ROOIBOS PANCAKE CAKE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>You\u2019ll need:<\/strong> For the pancake batter &#8211; 3 eggs; 8 Laager Rooibos teabags; 4 cups milk; 4 Tbsp oil; 1 Tbsp vanilla essence; 3 cups cake flour; \u00bd tsp baking powder; pink food colouring for \u00bd of the batter<\/p>\n<p>For the icing &#8211; 3 tubs cream cheese; 6 Tbsp strawberry yogurt; \u00bd cup icing sugar<\/p>\n<p>For the topping &#8211; strawberries for garnish; dusting of icing sugar<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Pancake batter:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In a saucepan, warm up the milk and Laager Rooibos teabags until infused. Simmer for 2-3 minutes and then cool completely.<\/li>\n<li>In a large bowl, combine the eggs, milk, oil and vanilla essence.<\/li>\n<li>Sift the flour and baking powder into the wet mixture. Blend together until smooth using a hand mixer.<\/li>\n<li>Divide batter into two bowls. Colour the one bowl of batter with a few drops of pink colouring and mix until combined.<\/li>\n<li>Use a non-stick pan to make pancakes. Heat a bit of oil or use cooking spray for the pan, then fry the pancakes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Icing:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Blend all the icing ingredients together until smooth. Swirl the batter around to cover the entire pan. Cook until the sides form little bubbles.<\/li>\n<li>Turn over and cook the other side.
