Let\u2019s chat about a lemon and herb chicken dinner in less than 30 minutes. 26 to be exact. And a spicy braised lamb in 27. Or a melt-in-your-mouth tender beef tenderloin and mushroom stew in under half an hour. <\/strong>We\u2019ve tried, tested, and love the new Philips All-in-One Cooker,<\/strong><\/span> which allows you to prep, pop into the pot and then sit back and relax. Often without even enough time to finish your glass of wine before \u201cDinner\u2019s ready\u201d.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a pressure cooker … but it also allows you to slow cook … so what about a proper Bolognese sauce – which usually takes days of slow cooking to get right, in less than two-and-a-half hours.<\/p>\n

So we can pressure cook and slow cook. But then there\u2019s the saut\u00e9, steam, keep warm and reheat options. You can thicken sauces (goodbye insipid gravy) and can save favourites, plus there\u2019s a childlock function. (no nasty accidents in the kitchen). It\u2019s got a digital touchscreen and rapid pressure release technology but (for us) hugely important is it\u2019s so damn sleek and attractive we don\u2019t mind that it now takes centre stage in our kitchen. And it does. We made our best risotto yet (would have passed the Aussie MasterChef judges\u2019 test), bakes cakes brilliantly, is perfect for making yoghurt, and is (and we say this from a technology challenged point of view) easy to navigate and use.<\/p>\n

The Philips HD2151 All-In-One Cooker costs around R3999 and you\u2019ll find it at all the obvious stockists, including Yuppiechef<\/a>, Takealot<\/a> and Makro<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\nThis lemon and herb chicken is the perfect mid-week dish, but fancy enough if you\u2019ve friends over for dinner on the weekend.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

After prepping (which you can do well in advance), it takes less than half an hour to cook in the Philips All-In-One cooker<\/strong><\/p>\n

You\u2019ll need: <\/strong><\/p>\n

400g chicken drumsticks; 12ml Limoncello; pinch of salt and black pepper; 8g honey; 120g onion, peeled and thickly sliced; 60g carrots, peeled and diced; 80g canned chickpeas; one slice lemon; 10g butter; 30ml each chicken stock and white wine; a sprig of fresh thyme<\/p>\n

To make: <\/strong><\/p>\n

Mix chicken drumsticks well with limoncello, salt, ground black pepper and honey. Marinate for 2 hours or overnight.<\/p>\n

Put onion, carrot, chickpeas, lemon, butter, chicken stock and white wine into the All-in-One cooker. Add the chicken drumsticks and thyme. Close and lock the lid.<\/p>\n

Choose your poultry, time and cooking method according to the instruction booklet, tap confirm and start cooking. Pressure release when finished, and when the pressure is completely released, unlock and open the lid, dish up and serve.<\/p>\n
