An expose of the dark world of human trafficking<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\u201cFrom the brothels of Cape Town, South Africa, and the streets of Maputo, Mozambique, to the tourist markets in Katmandu, Nepal and the red-light district of Pattaya, Thailand, I have observed, studied and\/or investigated the inextricable link between systems of prostitution and sex trafficking for over two decades. During this time, I have had the immense pleasure of and privilege to meet and work with several law enforcement officers, social workers, prosecutors and service providers. As a beacon of light, Emma van der Walt stands tall among many of these giants.\u201d \u00a0So says Marcel van der Watt, former Hawks Sex Trafficking Investigator in the foreword of She Is Safe<\/strong>, Emma\u2019s story, and the shocking tales of the lucky ones who escaped and survived the hell of human trafficking.<\/p>\n

Emma van der Walt is the fearless founder of the nonprofit organisation, Brave to Love, a group who tackle the dark world of sex trade and human trafficking head-on to rescue young women from the clutches of evil. Emma and her team work side by side with local and international law enforcement agencies \u2026 together they combat human trafficking and slavery to uncover the corruption and immense suffering that goes on behind closed doors.<\/p>\n

A woman of God, who says she gave her heart to the Lord when she was four years old, Emma, who lives in Pretoria, is a pastor, wife and mother, and has dedicated her life to the rescue and rehabilitation of human trafficking victims.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s real and tragic, and not without some humour \u2013 after her visit to a brothel, she leaves with adrenalin pumping through her body and giggling \u2026 \u201cI am not sure whether that was because of the secondary cannabis fumes or because I was so happy that Jesus had led me into my first brothel\u201d. But most of the book is harrowing, hard-hitting and isn\u2019t recommended for sensitive readers.<\/p>\n
