The luxury starts when you book in and are shown to your room. Walking into one of the Jumeirah skyline suites, you are welcomed with an overly generous space … with a full marble bathroom and spacious walk-in closet.
Loved the bedside control to open up the curtains so you can enjoy the most stunning skyline vistas without having to get up.
And then there’s the meticulous attention from the staff … when you arrive back at your suite, your slippers are now the correct size. If they noticed a book in your room … they left you a bookmark.
Sleep in in the morning (you’re on holiday!) … and you can, since morning breakfast runs until 11am at Jou Jou Brasserie/You can order off the menu … Try something adventurous like their Middle Eastern spread of hummus, muhammara, foul medames and a selection of mini manakish, falafel and grilled halloumi cheese, or have your pick from the buffet-style offerings … think yummy prawn dim sums.
But the real treat is picking from the selection of pastries made by Chef Nicolas Lambert, who has accolades for being Pastry Chef of the Year 2022 by Gault & Millau and Asia’s Best Pastry Chef by Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants. Make sure to try his freshly baked desserts at Shai Salon during your stay.
Interiors throughout the resort draw on Arabian design motifs, with a palette of blues, greens and taupes inspired by the Gulf and surrounding desert. It both feels luxurious and calming, calling you to relax and take in the moment.
At the resort, you have access to luxury shops, a gym, indoor pool, plunge pool and the opulent Pearl Spa and Wellness, where they offer a Jet Lag Rescue treatment to re-energise you and bring your body back into balance.
Exploring the resort outdoors, you feel a sense of being in a tropical destination … incredible since it’s a man-made experience in the desert climate. This is the moment you realise you are experiencing the best of both worlds.
Lounge poolside with a coconut water in hand to quench your thirst while you take a dip in one of the pools to cool off.
Or head off to the resort’s very own private beach, where the sand is white and hot and there are plenty of sunbeds and the ocean ripples in towards you.
And get this … each sunbed is equipped with a service button so you can call a waiter to bring you a cocktail and lunch while you spend the day on the beach. Luxury or what! The lunch is served in a box that can be covered if mid-meal you want to go for a dip … clever and convenient.
There are plenty of places where you can dine nearby the resort. On the terrace, Sea Fu serves Asian-inspired seafood. Hendricks Bar is where they mix up some fine spirits and stock cigars. There is a steakhouse restaurant from Turkey, Nusr-Et, while Scalini specialises in Italian cuisine. One worth boosting about is Nammos Dubai, where you’ll not only enjoy the most delicious Mediterranean food, but also the beachside views and the vibe, especially over the weekend.
We got to meet Habibi, a local resident parrot. We loved the live entertainment, and the Nammos Spiritz Virginie cocktail impressed.
