Britney Meistre shines with debut EP ‘25’ and a bold new chapter

Between studio sessions, beach plans and smoothie runs, Britney Meistre opens up about her journey, her faith and what life at 25 really feels like.

At just 25, Meyersdal’s own Britney Meistre is glowing with creative energy.

Her debut EP 25 has officially made its mark, introducing a pop sound that’s as heartfelt as it is refreshing.

The four-track collection tells a story of love, growth, faith and resilience, and for Britney, it feels like a beautiful snapshot of who she is right now.

‘Turning 25 and releasing 25 at the same time was not a coincidence. It was intentional,’ she says. ‘This project is a reflection of everything I have experienced leading up to this moment. The love, the heartbreak, the growth, the quiet victories. Personally, it feels like I have stepped into a new chapter with more clarity and confidence.’

Finding her voice

Britney’s love for music started when she was a little girl who could not stop singing.

She joined school productions and cultural activities, later studying at Waterstone College and Cambridge International Distance College.

After matric, she completed a Bachelor of Laws and an Honours degree in Management.

Her big leap came when she entered Idols at 16, which opened her eyes to the professional music world.

In 2021, she made her official debut with Where are you now, co-written and produced with Lee Cole.

The song connected deeply with listeners and shaped her as a songwriter.

Life at 25

Turning 25 is more than just music for Britney. It is about embracing who she is.

‘The EP is my way of capturing that moment, the messiness, the magic and the growth,’ she says.

When asked how her younger self would feel about the woman she has become, Britney smiles.

‘Seeing where I am now, releasing my first EP, working with people I admire and sharing my songs with the world, I think she would feel proud and excited for what is still to come.’

Her style mirrors her spirit: graceful, confident and authentic.

‘Style is an extension of storytelling. I want young girls to look at me and feel inspired to express themselves and embrace who they are.’

A year to remember

It has been a whirlwind year for the Meyersdal artist. Between recording sessions, video shoots and live performances, Britney has poured her heart into this project.

25 features songs like Rescue, Dive, Stay, and of course, 25, each revealing a different layer of her journey.

The music video for 25 brings her vision to life with natural landscapes, dreamlike scenes and styling by Belara Couture and Louis Fritz.

Britney worked closely with Black Water Weddings as creative producer to make sure every frame told her story of growth and renewal.

Life beyond the studio

Now that the EP is out in the world, Britney is ready for a little rest.

‘Once things quiet down, I’m looking forward to taking a breath and reconnecting with myself creatively and personally,’ she says with a smile.

‘I’d love to spend time writing without pressure and just explore new sounds, stories and emotions.’

When she’s not at the studio, Britney enjoys the simple things.

‘I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. And for December, I am definitely going for a beach holiday,’ she says.

Away from the studio, Britney enjoys spending time with family and friends, going on spontaneous adventures and keeping her energy high with early morning smoothies.

Everyday energy

Britney loves staying active and balanced. A self-confessed smoothie lover she says, ‘I love a Kauai smoothie.’

She also enjoys retail therapy and spending quality time with her loved ones.

‘I am passionate about living life to the fullest, whether it is diving into creative projects, staying energised or soaking up time with my family.’

Before stepping on stage or in front of the camera, Britney takes a moment to ground herself.

‘Saying a little prayer calms my nerves and reminds me why I am doing this,’ she shares. ‘It is a moment of connection, of gratitude and of trust.’

The woman behind the mic

Despite her confident stage presence, Britney admits that she still gets nervous before big moments.

‘People might be surprised to know that I get really nervous before stepping on stage or filming a video. In those moments my faith gives me strength to share my music with purpose and heart.’

When life gets overwhelming, she finds peace through faith and staying grounded.

‘Prayer is my anchor. It keeps me calm and centered when things feel chaotic. I also love surrounding myself with uplifting people and music that makes me feel alive.’

Pride and purpose

For Britney, this year has been about milestones both big and small.

‘Hearing my songs played on radio stations across Gauteng has been surreal,’ she says. ‘But what truly means the most are the people who come up to me and say my music spoke to them. That is what fills my heart.’

She hopes her journey will inspire other young women who are working towards their dreams.

‘Never give up, even when it gets tough. There will be moments of doubt and uncertainty, but those moments are part of the process. Believe in your voice, trust your path and know that every step forward counts.’

As Britney steps into this new chapter, 25 stands as more than just her debut EP.

It’s a reflection of the woman she has become and the dreams she continues to chase.

Believe in your voice, trust your path and know that every step forward counts.
