Make a Negroni … for a good cause

PLUS … you could win a bottle of gin!

For the past seven years, every June bars across the world have celebrated Negroni Week, raising money for charitable causes. Now it’s time to support the people behind those bars, where we spent many a happy hour pre Covid-19.

So cheers to premium drinks company Truman and Orange, who are supporting SA’s bars. How? Well, every time you make a Negroni or gin-based cocktail, post it on social media and tag them, they’ll donate R10 to their Covid-19 relief fund aimed at assisting local bars.

Here’s how to help… so simple.

Mix a Negroni (or a gin-based cocktail), post your creation on social media, mention the ingredients and measurements, tag @trumanandorange and #NegroniChallenge. That’s it. For every posting, R10 will be donated. The campaign runs until June 30 … when we’ll let you know the total amount donated.

We’ve give you the classic Negroni recipe, but if you don’t have the ingredients, fret not. You can make any gin-based cocktail and share in the challenge.

So …  how do you make a Negroni? This Italian cocktail made from one part gin, one part vermouth rosso and one part Campari. The aperitif is stirred (not shaken), poured over ice in a rocks glass and garnished with a slice of orange or with orange peel.

Fancy winning a bottle of Aviation Gin? Well when you post your cocktail pic, make sure that as well as tagging @trumanandorange #NegroniChallenge,  you also tag @getitnationalmagazine (Insta) @getitnationalmagazine (fb) follow our page and you’ll be in the draw.

Good luck, and saluti!
