What a delight to have all our talented KZN actors, dancers and performers back on stage, where they belong! The fabulous dance showcase, Shall We Dance, is returning to the Playhouse Opera Theatre for one weekend only from 9 to 11 September and it’s going to dazzle and amaze audiences. Dance styles featured this year include beautiful ballroom, sensational Latin American, fast-paced adage, traditional and contemporary ballet, toe-tapping Irish, dazzling Bollywood and smooth tap and elegant show dancing. With only five shows on offer, make sure you book your seat soon! Tickets are between R100 and R150 and booking is through Webtickets or at Pick n Pay Supermarkets or Hypermarkets. September is a month of celebrations as Gateway turns 21! In honour of this huge milestone, they are inviting shoppers to recall the wonderful memories they’ve made at the super-regional mall. “Everyone seems to have a fond memory of something they’ve enjoyed at Gateway,” says Marketing Manager, Michelle Shelley. “To celebrate this, we’ve created the interactive Museum of Memories to tell the Gateway story and bring those memories alive in a science-museum type experience.” The Museum of Memories is a captivating walk-through experience and will allow visitors to follow the mall’s fascinating journey from a bold idea in a field of sugarcane to the world-class attraction it is today. The Museum of Memories will be set up in the Expo Explore area from 5 September to 20 October. Entrance is free.

Always a highlight on the September calendar, Skabenga, The Oyster Box cat, is celebrating his birthday in style once more on 29 and 30 September. This year’s birthday theme is Skabenga in Wonderland and guests are invited to dress up as their favourite character from Disney’s most loved movie, Frozen, and stand a chance to win fabulous prizes. Instead of presents, guests are invited to bring along some food for Skabenga’s less fortunate animal friends.
