Playful by design

This Palm Springs–inspired home in Umhlanga is a vivacious celebration of colour, personality and fun. Fyfe Boyce Design were tasked with creating a space that feels bold yet refined – and they had a lot of fun along the way.

This unique Umhlanga home is drenched in pink in its many moods, from soft blush to vibrant fuchsia, while gold accents and curved forms add a nod to old–Hollywood glam. Arch motifs and custom mirrors bring fluidity and elegance, and every surface feels intentional.

A space to gather
In the living, lounge and bar zones, custom–made furnishings take centre stage. A striking teal–tiled bar fronts a seating area with leopard–print chairs and tropical palm–wallpaper backdrop. Sheer floor–to–ceiling curtains catch movement and light, blurring inside and out.

Bedrooms & retreats
Each bedroom and en–suite continues the theme of luxe fun. Think wall panels in soft pinks, velvet–upholstered seating, brass side tables and crown–style draped canopies over daybeds. Texture, colour and curve come together for spaces that feel both glamorous and relaxed.

The heart of the home
The kitchen and dining spaces combine practicality with show–stopping flair. Lacquered finishes (some areas required up to ten coats), bespoke cabinetry and playful textures deliver the kind of design that’s as usable as it is beautiful.

Outdoor living
Outside, the spirit of the home carries through. A poolside terrace features monochrome striped cushions, sculptural seating, and a beautiful blush pink bar framed by lush plants. The seamless flow from indoors to outdoors invites entertaining, lounging and sun–soaked ease.
