Meet Zara Ramautar, recently crowned Miss Ballito Teen.
As she steps into her new role, Zara is on a mission to inspire other teens to step out of their comfort zones, find their confidence and use kindness to create real change.
Why did you enter Miss Ballito Teen?
I am incredibly passionate about creativity, community and personal growth. I entered Miss Ballito Teen to challenge myself, step out of my comfort zone and, hopefully, inspire other young people to do the same. I truly believe confidence and kindness can create real change. I’d love to use this platform to uplift others, especially through initiatives that support youth empowerment and mental well-being.
What has the experience been like, and what do you hope for in the year ahead?
It’s been absolutely unforgettable. The journey has been filled with learning, friendship and so much personal growth. I have gained confidence, developed new skills and met many inspiring people. In the year ahead, I am excited to get involved in community projects, represent the Miss Ballito organisation with pride and continue growing as a positive role model for other teens.
What is your go-to way to relax?
I love spending time with my family and friends, singing and listening to music. Sometimes, just having a quiet moment in my room with a comfort show and a cup of chai latte is the best way to recharge.
If you could spend a whole day anywhere locally, where would it be and what would you do?
Definitely The Market at Ballito Lifestyle Centre. It’s the perfect place to relax, soak up the lively atmosphere, listen to live music and enjoy amazing food, especially sushi! I also recently loved wandering through the art gallery at Lifestyle.
Describe your style in three words.
Simple yet elegant.
