Struggling to keep the children entertained during the school holidays or over those rainy weekends? We’ve got you covered!
Try out these five tips from Re/Max that are not only fun and good for some quality family bonding time, but will also give your home a boost and tick off some of those long overdue chores on your to-do list. Let’s go:
- Set up a cozy reading nook: Create a cozy reading corner with soft blankets, a comfy chair, and – most importantly – a spot to rest a warm beverage and snacks. If there’s space, install some bookshelves and line the walls with your favourite novels.
- Family cook-off or bake-off: Rainy days are ideal for experimenting in the kitchen. Plus, who doesn’t love the smell of warm food wafting through the air on a cold winter’s day? To make things more interesting, involve the family and see who can make the best meal or best dessert.
- Cupboard clean-out: Take advantage of the indoor time to tackle some (probably long overdue) home organisation tasks of decluttering and clearing out unused and unwanted goods. Apart from helping to pass the time, decluttering can be incredibly satisfying and can make your home feel more spacious and orderly. It might even help you enjoy your space more.
- Board Games and puzzles: For those looking for less screen time, playing board games or building puzzles can be a great way to spend quality time together indoors. Once the puzzle is complete, you could even have it framed and hang it on the wall as art.
- Tackle some renovations: If your home is starting to make you feel gloomy, why not give it a little facelift? You can do this by repainting the walls or ceiling, touching up any scuff marks on the skirting boards, replacing light fittings, and any outdated handles on doors and cupboards.
