Journey’s End, the boutique winery and vineyard owned by the Gabb family, has released their rebranded top-tier Precision Series range of wines … a trio of wines that are perfect for celebrating the start of the festive season and that would all make exceptionally welcome gifts.

Try one, or all three, of this top-notch range.

Journey’s End Destination Chardonnay 2018, described as ‘the pinnacle of white winemaking at Journey’s End’, is rich and full and creamy, with almond and vanilla spice from generous oak aging. The limited edition wine – only 20 barrels were produced, costs R280 a bottle.

Journey’s End Cape Doctor (The Red) 2015 is named after the ‘Cape Doctor’, the cooling and cleansing south-easterly wind that blows through the vineyards from False Bay, bringing many benefits to the vineyards. It’s a Bordeaux-style red blend … all cassis and rich fruitcake on the nose, with cinnamon spice and dark chocolate from generous oak aging, and concentrated blackberries … creamy and elegant, only 15 barrels were produced, and it costs R280 a bottle.

The griffin is a mythical creature – part eagle, part lion … the king of beasts and birds, it’s known to protect very precious things, and is part of the Gabb’s Welsh heritage. It’s on the family crest, and a pair guard the  entrance to the family’s cellar. 19 barrels of Journey’s End The Griffen 2016 were produced … an oak-matured Syrah wine with soft tannins and explosive fruit concentration. R280 a bottle.
