Stock up … on delish festive treats

Could there be anything better than a hot Pastéis de Nata, fresh from the oven? We think not. But the thought of actually making them from scratch. Nah. Which is why we’re leaping for joy about the fact we can pick up a packet of half a dozen of these scrumptious Portuguese custard tarts directly from the baker.

Brigid’s Pastéis de Nata are frozen, so keep a few packets on hand, and when the craving hits – or guests arrive – simply pop into the oven for 15 minutes, give a quick dusting of icing sugar and cinnamon as they do in Lisbon and … voila!

Also order the Festive Mince Pie Pastéis de Nata – they’re a limited edition and are crammed with apples and cinnamon, raisins and sultanas and toasted crunchy pecans … beyond delish, so worth stocking up on. R70 (plain) and R95 (festive) for half a dozen; order directly from Brigid (yes, of the famous Brigid’s Mayonnaise) on WhatsApp 082-462-7515, collection dates twice weekly.
