The City of Gold is shining a little brighter with the opening of The Pot Luck Club Johannesburg by Luke Dale Roberts.
You’ll discover the restaurant has moved to The Peech, and like the boutique hotel, they have created a refreshing space of leisure. The signature interior accents of marble, origami and soft lighting will be recognizable to The Pot Luck Club regulars. It’s a date night dream where you can take the edge off with one of their crisp lemongrass cocktails, enjoyed outside on the lovely terrace surrounded by lush garden.
You can then move indoors for a cosy, intimate experience and do what locals love … order tapas as you chat and enjoy the small, beautifully presented, fine dining plates which are both easy to share and easy to pair with some really good wines – including a few small interesting brands.
Chef Ebie du Toit heads up the kitchen, working alongside Pot Luck Club’s Group Executive Chef Jason Kosmas, and the pair know how to send your palate on a culinary adventure … from sour to salty, a little fusion of global flavours, and always a sweet, sweet ending. If you are unsure on what to order, some of the original faves are still on the menu … chickpea fries with aioli and smoked ketchup, fish sliders, and the memorable peanut butter bomb dessert.
For that special someone, your dinner can end off with a stay over at The Peech Hotel. The bold new chapter of The Pot Luck Club is such a treat to Joburg diners and the international travellers spending the night. Open Wednesday to Sunday for lunch from noon (last booking at 2pm) and dinner Tuesday to Saturday from 6pm (last booking at 9pm). For reservations, call 010-157-5757. Details: thepotluckclubjhb.co.za
