Pink Mamas … easy breezy eating spot

Nothing like an espresso martini to kickstart your afternoon while braving the chill of Winter. And we know just the place to stop by and order one.
Pink Mamas … easily recognizable as the soft pink-painted house on Eastwood Road in Dunkeld, which has become an increasingly favoured restaurant since opening up in April. So while you’ll go for the martini, you’ll stay for so much more.
General manager Ashton Frodsham curated a menu for easy everyday eating. For him, having visited Italy a few times and being a part of a family who loves to cook Italian food, it was a no brainer to include Italian inspired dishes onto the menu.
What sets them apart? The crispy thin-crusted Tonda Romana style pizzas. Take your pick of a selection of pizza rossa or pizza bianca options where the combinations and pairing of flavours are boastful in the best way. Think creamy gorgonzola, pear, walnuts, mozzarella and rocket, Salsicce, pancetta, mozzarella, rosemary, basil and Pecorino Romano.

Simply browsing over the menu will have you salivating. Ashton mentions a must-try … their handcrafted ravioli filled with tender, slow-braised lamb shoulder, served in a rich parmesan cream.
While we popped in for the Espresso martinis, locals also love the cocktail spritzers … there are nine sensational options to choose from. Insider tip: on Fridays from 4pm to 6pm you can indulge in them at half the price.
The décor is bold, breezy with touches of European countryside and an Italian influence.

It’s a prime spot for alfresco dining, long lazy lunches and gathering. Memorable, and well worth a visit. If you are not convinced, pop over to their @pinkmamasjhb on Instagram to see for yourself.
