Pantry by Marble, the much-loved “fancy but easy” convenience store concept, will launch a new pop-up in the Crystal Court at Mall of Africa on 15 October 2025.
The beautifully designed space will bring its signature grab-and-go favourites and indulgent treats to one of South Africa’s busiest shopping destinations.
Food lovers can expect a curated menu featuring open sandwiches, smoothies, juices, coffees, and Pantry’s signature soft-serve ice cream, alongside the popular ready-to-eat range. While hot items like pizzas and burgers won’t feature due to the pop-up stand format, Pantry promises “simple, beautiful, and satisfying” alternatives.
Chef David Higgs, Co-Founder of Pantry, says, “The idea is to create a condensed version of the Pantry experience, designed to feel like those little luxury pop-ups you see in Dubai and other global cities. It’s a nice touch in a mall setting and we’re excited to bring it to life.”
The Mall of Africa stand, designed by interior designer Irene Kyriacou, aims to capture Pantry’s signature warmth, nostalgia, and community feel.
“This pop-up brings Pantry’s cozy, inviting aesthetic right into the heart of Midrand,” says Kyriacou.
Born during the COVID lockdown, Pantry has grown into a Johannesburg staple, with its flagship Rosebank store and a standalone Hazelwood location launching later this year. The Mall of Africa pop-up continues its expansion, offering a taste of Pantry’s unique philosophy of providing restaurant-quality food that is accessible, indulgent, and rooted in comfort.
