Choose The Thai Table 789 for a cosy night out … it certainly brings the much-needed heat!
It’s chilly, so sit at a table near a free-standing heater, and warm up with one of the crafty signature Whiskey cocktails. Then, of course, to warm you up even more, there are loads of authentic spicy Thai dishes which turn up the heat.
The first cheers happen as you sit down to a complimentary short glass of homemade Thai iced tea. Then share a few starters … yummy money bags filled with prawn and chicken, crispy wonton parcels and Por Pia Tod, all served with sweet chilli sauce.
The clinking of glasses continues as you explore the drinks menu. We fancied the Mango Dynasty … a combination of whiskey, pineapple- mango puree and lime juice that is both fresh in flavour, smooth in texture and vibrant in colour. The homemade Thai green iced tea is equally refreshing, silky and bright.
Both the forks and chop sticks come out when the mains arrive at the table. We wanted a dish that was bold, warm and spicy, and a bowl of their prawn basil chilli noodles delivered just that … a portion of evenly coated noodles in a sauce that can be ordered mild, medium or hot, mixed in with stir-fry and tender prawns. Another delish prawn dish is the Goong Sauce Makham … crispy well-seasoned prawns with a tangy tamarind sauce, and it’s a generous enough serving to allow for sharing.
Crowd-pleasing picks are the Massaman curry, Pad Thai and beef basil stir-fry, and there are also soups, salads and a Thai Rump Stake.
To end off an already smooth-flowing evening, the Thai Silk chocolate mousse ice cream is where spoons collide … sharing and scooping up this tasty, chocolatey treat.
The restaurant has two areas divided by a glass sliding door with the tables close together, low-intensity lighting, and soft background music, all adding to the intimate yet cosy setting.

At The Thai Table 789, what captured our attention had to be the fresh aromatic smells and brightness presented in each dish as it arrived, enticing you to want to tuck in before even taking a bite.
