This week we’re tasting gold … with Tokara.
Tokara – the highly acclaimed, family owned wine and olive oil farm on the outskirts of Stellenbosch – was dished up a delicious gold medallist award at the 2019 SA Olive Awards.
Coming out tops was the 2019 Tokara Multi Varietal Extra Virgin Olive Oil … all fresh green olive fruit, wild rocket and butter lettuce, finishing off with walnut and spicy notes.
It’s excellent as a baste for free range, well-matured steak, and works well in dips and salads … and for a true feast, all you need is fresh ciabatta drizzled with this oil, thin slices of mature cheddar and freshly ground salt. Yum.
