If you’re looking for a fine wine this month, you won’t do much better than the newly released Constantia Glen TWO 2019, an elegant, white Bordeaux-style blend from the top tier, family owned Constantia boutique wine estate.
This vintage has already garnered rave reviews from leading local and international wine commentators. And no wonder. It’s a blend of Sauvignon Blanc (67%), which lends acidity and backbone, and Sémillon (33%) which contributes to the waxy weight, richness and texture.
Winemaker Justin van Wyk suggests pairing this with dishes like grilled Kingklip with salsa verde, or lightly seared green asparagus and buffalo mozzarella wrapped in prosciutto. It would also be great with oak-smoked trout with dill & lemon crème fraiche and a cucumber pickle.
