Let success be your noise

In a heartfelt interview with Get It Magazine, Jenna Axsel, the dynamic force behind Creative Academy Group, shares her thoughts on motherhood, entrepreneurship, and life in general. With an infectious energy and genuine warmth, Jenna’s words speak deeply as she reflects on her journey as a mother of four, an accomplished school owner, and a woman with a passion for making a difference in her community.

Motherhood: A roller-coaster of emotions

For Jenna, motherhood is a profound experience. It means putting her children’s needs before her own, being a constant source of guidance and support, and navigating the highs and lows of parenthood with grace and resilience.

From laughter-filled moments to challenges, Jenna embraces every aspect of the journey, knowing that the love and bond she shares with her children are unparalleled.

While motherhood comes with its share of sacrifices, she cherishes the privilege of witnessing her children’s “firsts” and being there for every milestone. As she puts it, being a mom means being the last to do many things, but also being the first in her children’s lives, the first they turn to for comfort, guidance, and love.

On Mother’s Day, her family spoils her with breakfast in bed, heartfelt letters, and carefully chosen gifts, a tradition that highlights the love and appreciation they have for her role in their lives.

Reflecting on her upbringing, she fondly recalls her mother teaching her the joys of baking and cooking, skills she now shares with her own children in their kitchen.

Despite the fulfillment motherhood brings, she acknowledges the challenges and complexities it entails. She emphasizes the importance of self-forgiveness, embracing imperfection, and finding balance amidst the chaos of daily life.

To young mothers embarking on their own journey, Jenna offers wise advice:

‘Prioritise open communication, embrace imperfection, and let go of

unnecessary guilt. She encourages mothers to nurture likable, respectful, and compassionate children’.

Dispelling the notion of parenting hacks, Jenna humorously acknowledges the inherent difficulties of raising children, reminding parents that perseverance and resilience are key.

A visionary approach to education

As the founder and owner of Creative Academy, Jenna’s passion for education shines through. From humble beginnings to exponential growth, Creative Academy Group has become a beacon of innovative learning and community engagement.

‘Something I love about young children is that they are so forgiving, they are brutally honest and they love you even on your worst days.’

She says that she loves children’s ability to grasp new concepts, their enthusiasm and excitement about the little things. ‘Their natural desire to be empathetic and compassionate is something that many adults can learn from.’

Her vision for Creative Academy Group extends beyond traditional education, aiming to cultivate critical thinking and lifelong learning skills in students. She dreams of inspiring young minds and instilling a love of learning that transcends the classroom.

Personal insights and inspirations

In a glimpse into her personal life, she shares fond memories of her childhood, her journey into education, and her enduring love story with her husband, Carel.

They have been married 16 years and they have four beautiful children.

‘I know everyone has a love story but ours is my favourite! It was a holiday romance that turned into a move from across the world to be together and the rest is history.’

She candidly describes the chaos of her daily life and confesses her lack of spare time.

‘I never know what to say when people ask me what my hobbies are, I mean I am a mum, I enjoy trips to the bathroom alone and silence,’ she said.

Driven by a fear of being average, Jenna advocates for kindness, collaboration, and integrity in a world often plagued by negativity. She describes herself as authentic.

‘I am all about being real, what you see is what you get, today, tomorrow and always. I am a people’s person, and it gives me great pleasure to impact someone’s life, even if it is in some small way,’ she says.

Her mantra, “Work hard in silence and let success be your noise”, sums up her unwavering determination and commitment to making a positive impact.
