06 -Get ready for a one-of-a-kind experience when The Cirk and Stageworx join forces to present Meat Loaf – The Rebel Ride, featuring The Voice SA runner-up, Yahto Kraft. This unique collaboration will showcase some of the greatest Meat Loaf hits, including classics such as Bat Out of Hell, I’d Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That), and Paradise by the Dashboard Light, in addition to featured moments of some of the biggest Jim Steinman songs like Total Eclipse of the Heart and All Coming Back to Me Now.

Audiences can expect a truly unforgettable evening as Kraft‘s powerhouse vocals bring these iconic songs to life, supported by the incredible circus acts from The Cirk – Cheree Simpson, Kelsey Minne, Kiowa Howes, Mohammed Aqueel and Nakita Santos. From high-flying acrobatics to mesmerising fire performances, the show promises to be an explosion of energy in an immersive experience for all.

Meat Loaf – The Rebel Ride featuring Yahto Kraft is a celebration of two titans of rock music, brought together in a groundbreaking collaboration that pushes the boundaries of traditional concert experiences. Only 210 tickets are available for each of the shows, so book now to avoid disappointment.

The show runs from September 6 to 29 at The Cirk at the Cresta Shopping Centre, with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 7pm and Sundays at 2pm. The duration of the show is two hours, including an interval, and there is no age restriction. Tickets range from R180 to R280.

Remember the fun music game Noot vir Noot? If you do and enjoyed playing along from your couch, you might just want to attend Laerskool President Steyn’s fundraiser on September 6 at 6pm at the school. The evening will take the form of a musical quiz evening, where song lyrics will be played, and guests will have to guess which song it is.

The evening promises to be loads of fun, with themed tables, and guests also requested to dress according to the theme of their table. This fundraising initiative is in aid of the school’s rugby and netball tours later this year. Tables of 10 are available at R2 500, or tickets for individuals at R250 each.

With Spring on your doorstep, it is time to get ready for the popular Spring Fête to be hosted on September 7. Yes, it is almost time for the Alberton Retirement Village’s fête, and you are invited to book your stall as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

It is important to note that no food stalls are available. You can book any other stall available at R200. The event will start at 9am at the premises of the retirement village in Verwoerd Park.

Being part of a worldwide organisation, Probus Alberton is one of many clubs which has an environment of great fellowship for retired or semi-retired people.

Enter now for Neema Foundation for the Deaf’s #SilentWalk&Run on September 14 at Marks Park Sports Club, Emmarentia. The event attracted more than 1 500 participants last year and is expected to continue to grow.

Tickets to the event can be purchased here. The goal is to promote an understanding of deafness and deaf culture to improve the communication gap between deaf and hearing communities.

The #SilentWalk&Run starts at 8am, and fun activities include a fun walk/run, with opportunities to learn sign language through activities along the route. On the day, there will also be activities such as silent aerobics and yoga, an information exhibition, an arts and crafts market by learners with special education needs, a children’s play area and much more.

Participants from the hearing community are encouraged to walk alongside their deaf peers to raise awareness and reduce the barriers and stereotypes within communities and organisations.

Lefra Productions just announced that the British supergroup Smokie will be coming to South Africa as part of their 45th Anniversary World Tour.

Catch them at The Big Top Arena, Carnival City, on September 22 at 3pm. Once again, the event promises to be a Smokie party.

The popular South African group West will be the guest artist for the Smokie tour.

The popular Boroughs Of Bedfordview 15km run and 5km fun run is taking place on September 22.

Enjoy a great day at the races with your club, or enjoy a great day out with the family while keeping up your fitness and exploring the scenic streets of Bedfordview. The 15km run features prize money for first-, second- and third-placed men and women. The route will start and finish at the Virgin Active Bedfordview top field opposite the squash courts on 101 Van Buuren Avenue, Bedfordview.

Both the 15km and 5km will be electronically timed, gun to mat. The 15km run will start at 6am and the 5km at 6.15am. The 5km is a fun community walk/run in support of Better Bedfordview, a local community initiative involved in cleaning up, improving and uplifting the neighbourhood and building community unity and collaboration.

The net proceeds from this event will be donated to Better Bedfordview. One lucky participant can win an exclusive entry to the traditionally sold-out BMW Berlin Marathon in 2025. Brackenhurst Primary School will host its fun-filled golf day to raise funds for the improvement and upgrading of its sports facilities on September 26 at Reading Country Club. Loads of prizes will be up for grabs, including ones for the longest drive and nearest to the pin.

The competition format will be a better ball, and entries are R2 000 per four-ball, which includes a halfway house and a prize-giving dinner. You can also sponsor holes.

All par threes can be sponsored at R2 000, tee one and tee 10 at R1 500, and R1 000 for all the other tees. Prizes or cash donations for prizes and any sponsorship would be greatly appreciated by the school.
