The Lowveld witnessed a day in the life of this extraordinary expedition at the Capital Hotel on September 5, with Efficient Group’s founder and chief economist, Dawie Roodt, at the helm. “The Efficient Expedition is all about honest and positive conversations,” said Dawie. “If you can measure it, you can manage it.”
With a fleet of classic Land Rovers, Land Cruisers and other vehicles, the Efficient Group will drive to restore hope and to discuss solutions to the modern-day challenges South Africans face. Whether you are already a client or still considering a partnership with Efficient, we aim to understand and address your challenges.
“Part of our intentions on this extraordinary and logistically complex journey is to meet clients and advisers in far-flung parts of the country, gauge the state of the country by talking to ordinary South Africans and basically engage in that process of achieving financial wellness. All challenges are unique, but we believe there is a way for us all to work together to rebuild our beautiful country,” Dawie explains. “We are more than just policies and assets, we are a community and we believe in building lasting long-term relationships. We are empowering South Africa’s strengths for a prosperous future. The only way to ensure we can address your needs is to understand them. Our Expedition will focus on tough but constructive discussions.”
The trip kicked off in Rustenburg on the evening of September 2. In total, the Efficient crew will visit 19 towns all over South Africa. “The good news is that we have a camera crew travelling with us to document our journey and share videos daily on social media, so you can join in this adventure from wherever you are!”
How do you measure financial well-being?
We believe that financial well-being is a holistic concept that covers various aspects of your financial life. We look beyond just your income or wealth, and also consider generations to come. Being financially well means health and happiness by reducing stress and anxiety, enhancing your quality of life and even improving your relationships.
The answer lies not so much in the products that are being offered, but in developing an integrated and holistic approach to address all the needs and objectives of individual clients.
Numerous studies have shown that just 4% of South Africans can retire comfortably. We believe that this statistic is an indicator of how the current financial planning approach might not be working for South Africa. Large institutions are selling products and not necessarily making people financially well. The answer lies not so much in the products that are being offered, but in developing an integrated and holistic approach to address all the needs and objectives of individual clients.
To measure financial well-being, we created the Financial Well-Being Calculator. Being able to measure and attach a score to the aspirational objective of being financially well, you can manage and improve your financial well-being efficiently by partnering with an Efficient financial adviser. In doing so, you can improve your financial well-being.
The score considers three critical elements:
• Wealth creation
• Income protection and
• Wealth protection.
We also partner with you wherever you are in life. Depending on whether you are still saving towards your retirement or are already retired, our financial well-being score will take this into account.
