With her many years’ experience in the bedding industry, Coull Cotton Co founder Lynn Coull is absolutely passionate about helping people get into the right bed – ultimately achieving a great night’s sleep.
At her newly opened retail space at The Circle in Ballito, you’ll find Lynn’s range of carefully designed foam and spring Coull Sleep beds, as well as a wide selection of top-quality linen, curtains, indoor and outdoor furniture and gifting. You can even sit down at their trendy coffee bar and enjoy a cappuccino while you browse!
“It’s a bit of a catch-22,” laughs Lynn, “we want you to feel so comfortable in your bed that you don’t want to get up in the morning, but also ensure you wake up so rested that you can’t wait to jump out and start the day refreshed!”
Ballito mother of two Lynn started her career in the bedding industry more than 13 years ago. In that time, she worked her way up from being a rep in Durban to becoming the national sales manager for one of the top-of-the-range bedding companies in the country, based in Johannesburg.
Ready for a change, Lynn decided to move to the North Coast in June 2019. It was around then that she met her now business partner Gary Wentzel. Gary, a former marketing director for a national grocery chain and CEO of major pharmacy company, was semi-retired and also new to Ballito.
Together they have since gone on to open three warehouses in Shaka’s Rock and recently their shop in Ballito.
“There is so much choice out there in terms of beds, but it’s important that people buy the right bed to suit their needs. That’s my passion. It’s not about buying just a brand name – it’s about buying comfort and quality to suit your needs. I think of myself as a ‘sleep consultant’ for my customers.”
The Coull Cotton Co store has a trendy ‘warehouse’ feel and a welcoming coffee bar. They stock a wide range of different thread-count linen, curtains and Woodline Shade Solutions outdoor furniture and umbrellas, as well as locally-made furniture pieces, artwork and home décor. The gifting range, curated by Lynn, includes Charisma Candles and beautiful bath, sleep and stress salts.
“This has become so much more than just a bed store … it’s evolved into a lifestyle shop and ultimately, I hope, a place where people can come together and connect, network and feel at home.”
Coull Cotton Co Have also ‘teamed up’ with M&B Events Company, with the aim of creating a networking space for North Coast ladies who want to talk all things sleep, interior and décor.
