What fun we had styling and photographing our bubbly, beautiful cover star this month! And the result, I’m sure you’ll agree, is one of our loveliest covers ever.
The stylish (especially wearing this gorgeous Kathrin Kidger frock!) Kgomotso Ndungane of Real Housewives of Durban fame is not only a doting mom of two and wife of former Sharks rugby player Odwa, but she also owns two successful businesses of her own. She’s the perfect example of what hard work and determination can result in … and has already proven she’s a force to be reckoned with.
We also chat to Umdloti’s Graeme Brunt – the clever man behind Oceaneye – a website featuring 24-hour live feed cameras on some of the most popular beaches in our country (including a good number in KZN). It’s such a fantastic concept and perfect for anyone who wants to check out the conditions before heading to the beach. We’ve have a strong focus on health, with some really useful tips for exercising through each stage of your life from Ballito biokinetisist Nic, as well as some recipes for those embracing a plant-based lifestyle.
We were delighted this month to have met two successful men in the hospitality industry – both of whom worked incredibly hard to alter the course of their lives. Barista and owner of Coffee Lab at the Lifestyle Centre in Ballito, Sbusiso Nkolothi has, over the past five months, won the hearts of Ballito residents with his great smile, bubbly personality and excellent coffee and private chef Themba Mngoma went from washing dishes in the scullery of a Durban restaurant to being junior sous chef as a five-star hotel in London. Also, make sure to check out our spice and curry roundup as well as some delicious recipes from the Indian street food experts from Umhlanga-based Bachao.
Be sure to enter our birthday competition and you could win a night at the Oyster Box worth over R10 000!
