A passion for empowerment

Sholain Perumal is the CEO of multiple companies, but philanthropy is what really makes her tick.

Sholain Perumal wears many hats – she is the CEO of multiple businesses, including The Gold Bar, a company that recycles gold, as well as an activist for women’s empowerment. She works with determination and a strong sense of purpose to manage her businesses, and to serve as an inspiration for others.

The Gold Bar is the largest of Sholain’s companies, with five stores around the country. Her other businesses include Sensational Hair, Nails & Beauty Salon in Umhlanga and Cornubia Mall; Designer Prints, a graphic design and print company; Specialised Accounting, a bookkeeping company; and Redhouse Photography, and Ballito Seafoods at Odyssey Mall rooftop parking, offering fresh seafood daily.

For Sholain, diversity and equal opportunities in the business realm are extremely important. Through her leadership, she encourages women to break barriers, pursue their ambitions, and strive for success. By advocating for gender equality and empowerment, she helps to create an environment where women can thrive and reach their full potential. She is a proud partner in the Wonder Woman initiative, which aims to recognise women making a difference in society. She is also the founder of the Now You Can charity organisation.

Sholain Perumal’s story is an example of how a CEO can leverage their success and influence to champion important causes, empower others, and drive positive change in both professional and philanthropic endeavours. She believes that she can “change the world with one act of kindness at a time.”
