Ballito Lifestyle Centre is a hub of local musical talent, regularly featuring the North Coast’s diverse and dynamic female artists! From budding musicians showcasing their talents at Open Mic nights to seasoned performers and DJs captivating audiences at The Market, The Studios and Eat Street, these women are the shining stars of local entertainment.

Yolanda Cenge is a versatile vocalist with a compelling stage presence and is also a talented dancer. She is the lead singer of Quiet Storm, a band formed by her late husband, Philani Ngidi. She has shared the stage with various artists including Freshly Ground. Yolanda is diverse in genres such as Jazz, Afro and R&B. Yolanda will be performing with Quiet Storm on Eat Street from 1-4pm on 11 & 25 August.

KZN born and bred, Angel M brings the love of music alive with her own renditions of her carefully selected cover songs as well as her own work. Angel has performed at various festivals throughout SA and reached the top 32 of Idols SA! Experience Angel’s great vibe at The Market on 9 August and on Eat Street on 14 September.

Susan Barry is well known both as a performer and an educator and has mentored many award winning young artists. She has performed with some of SA’s great musicians such as Busi Mhlongo with whom she worked with for many years. Susan received a Living Legend Award from the Ethekwini Municipality for her contribution to music in KZN. She is a member of the band Quiet Storm and also performs solo on the keyboard at The Market and The Studios.

Tara Blake has been performing at the Lifestyle Centre for 20 years! She has transitioned from classical to electric violin playing at The Market and The Studios, creating a relaxed atmosphere with contemporary, light jazz and classical tunes. Tara is also a regular performer at Open Mic, every third Thursday evening at The Market.

Dynamic singer, songwriter and dancer, Jemma Kate is passionate about her South African heritage. Her music blends traditional rhythms with contemporary sounds, captivating audiences with her originals and her very own renditions of favourite top 40 hits. Jemma plans on continuing spreading messages of hope and positivity through her music.

Katie La Femme‘s music journey began as a child when she created mixtapes as a creative outlet, which fuelled her passion for music. She was inspired to start her DJ career over a decade ago, focusing on melodic house music which has become her signature style. Enjoy Katie on Eat Street where she regularly mixes for Sundowners sessions between 4 and 6pm.

Rachel Mae, a home-grown, part-time musician, is a talented pianist, bass guitarist, acoustic guitarist, vocalist and song writer. She began her musical journey at The Market’s Open Mic evenings, which paved the way for weekend gigs at The Studios whenever she is home from her studies in Germany. Experience Rachel’s soulful melodies at The Studios on 17 August and 28 September.

Well-known musical director and pianist Calli Thomson, graduated from UCT with a BMus degree. Currently, she is a school music teacher and offers private music lessons. She has toured nationally with various renowned artists and is no stranger to The Market at Lifestyle Centre, where you will find her performing again on 4 & 18 August.
